Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor also known as a producer, director and actress. She has been praised for movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. She won several awards including an Oscar for the movie Piano. The path to acting began on Broadway through a myriad of Broadway as well as Off Broadway initiatives. In her early years, Helen Keller was her favourite character in a fifth year show. The mumps that she contracted left her blind and deaf in the one ear. However, she didn't let this to stop her from becoming an actor. While in college, she studied drama, she moved in New York City with her ambitions in mind. Hunter was stuck in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. After that, she relocated into Los Angeles and tried to land films parts. In Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. Since then she has appeared in many TV movies and series in a long career that spans more than 30 years. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
