Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. The talented actress began her acting career on the stage with an array of Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. As a child, Helen Keller was her favorite character in a 5th grade production. Following a bout of mumps, she became deaf in one of the sides of her ears. However, this was not enough to stop her desire to become an actor. As a teenager she studied drama, before moving to New York City. Hunter was stuck in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land film roles. The role of a supporting actress was secured for Swing Shift. In the last three decades Holly Hunter has been on various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in addition to the Women in Film Lucy Award.
